Hi and welcome to my website NederLandse Model Spoorwegen, Dutch model trains. I started this website. Yes, I was already employed as a railroad carman at CSX transportation, but needed a backup plan, just in case i got layoff from the railroad, which thank goodness has not happend, but I did come close twice. So is American railroad life. So, I now have two jobs, 5 nights a week at the railroad and 2 days a week at my own photo studio. And in the little spare time I am working on my model train layout.
What to expect the next couple of months?
Since I work two jobs, my time is still limited, but I promise to work on this website as often as I can. I recently started to pick up the miniature railroad hobby again. In 2015 I disassembled my HO model train layout, put most of it in moving/storage boxes and discarded most of the lumber. So of course, I will document the progress of the new layout and place most of my projects that were on the old website back online.
The above two pictures are from when I started out as a young child. One is with my father with our HO scale trains. Since my father owned an aluminium construction company, he made this table.
The other one is my N scale layout, something I started when I was building train layouts with little access to room space, but after a while I sold the N scale trains to replace them with HO scale.
Oh, and two more little thing that has changed since 2015…
ONE: In order to live as my true self in happiness, I decided to start transitioning from male to female. So yes, I am an out and proud, openly transgender woman, considering myself fully transitioned. (Social, legal and medical)
For an in-depth story about my personal life, please see my website: Transitioning after 50
TWO: After I graduated in professional photography at the New York Institute of Photography, and receiving my certification in passport photography at the Stichting Nederlandse Fotovakhandel. (Dutch Foundation of Photography Professionals) I decided to start my business. May 2008 was the time I got my business license and Henrico Photo was born.
