This project is an attempt to restore two old desktop computers needed to run the digital layout. I modified these computers sometime in 2005, I think. They were working fine at the time before I packed them up and placed in storage. Running on MSDOS 5 or 6 and Windows 95 or 98, I will know for sure once I boot them up… If they still boot up.
I do have two perfect Dell laptops with a docking station running Windows XP that I refurbished and prepared to replace the two desktop computers, if needed.
I did notice some weird looking “dirt or rust” inside the desktop computer expansion slots, but it could be from a leaking capacitor. Only time will find out, once I have the time to tackle this project.
Two old desktop PC’s. One is used like a DCC command control, (MRdirect software) the other is to control the layout operations. (Koploper software)
The rear modified expansion slots, where there could be trouble? See the dark spot.
